The hotel was really basic and not worthy of the money we paid. The rooms smelled of cheap cleaning products and were run down. However, the staff were polite, attentive, and really nice. The location was suited to serious walkers and hill climbers but was noisy due to cars passing by. The dining experience was mixed, with great dinners but poor breakfast. The facilities were lacking.

The hotel had warm, spacious, comfortable, and clean rooms, albeit a bit dark. The service was really friendly and accommodating, which made our stay enjoyable. The location was especially beautiful with views overlooking the lake and right on the West Highland Way, perfect for tired hikers.
